a cute house I'd live in

I just saw this Sneak Peak on DesignSponge, one of my favorite design blogs (their weekly Sneak Peak features are pretty much the highlight of my week!) and I absolutely adore all the bright color and quirky collectables owner Raya Carlisle decorates with. I know you're not supposed to just steal content from other blogs because it's not being original, but I just had to share this cool home! When I eventually become a home owner (pipe dream?) I hope that it looks something like this. Thanks DesignSponge! You can see more pics and read about Raya's decorating inspirations here.

Another day at the Cinema

You know what really irks me? When people come late to see a movie, and even when I tell them, "FYI, the movie started 25 minutes ago," they're like, "Ya that's fine." Who comes to see a movie, and PAYS to see one, that has already started?! YOU'VE MISSED THE BEGINNING, THE MOST CRUCIAL PART!! I'm like Alvy Singer in Annie Hall in that I can't see a movie even if the announcements have already started.

I once had a woman pay for a film that was going to end in 5 minutes. I told her, "There are only 5 minutes left so it doesn't make any sense for you to go see it." But she insisted, saying, "I'm supposed to meet my friends, I HAVE to go see it!" So ok, whatever, do whatever you want, lady! By the time she got downstairs and into the cinema, the movie was over and she walked out about 2 seconds after going in. If she wanted to meet up with her friends, couldn't she just have waited for them outside the theatre? Why do I always find myself surrounded by nuts?!

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that most people are really really dumb and having to deal with them is the most excruciating part of my existence.

Alvy Singer doesn't approve of you being late for a movie

Dealing with crazies like this...

and this...

...and this...

"Who's Woody Allen?"

Okay, no joke, a customer just asked me who Woody Allen is. He goes, "What should I see, Manhattan or Match Point?" I'm like, "Well, it depends at what point in Woody Allen's career you're interested in...Match Point is playing today and Manhattan isn't." He goes, "Who's Woody Allen?" EXCUSE ME? Then he asked me if Match Point was a documentary. I don't want to sound snobby or pretentious or anything, but who the heck is this person? I can't talk about this any further, it's upsetting me.

I love you Woody <3

cameo lover

Kimbra's song "Cameo Lover" is kind of fantastic. And this video is ultra cute. Here are some stills; you can watch the video and hear her song here

I want that pink dress! And a well-dressed dancing posse behind me! I just want to be Kimbra!

I'VE BEEN BUSY!

Sorry guys! My life has been taken over by packing for a big move from my beloved NDG to the new and exciting neighborhood of Mile End. We moved yesterday and now my apartment looks like it should belong on an episode of Hoarders. I'll be back blogging as usual in a couple days when my apartment doesn't look like this anymore:

A hoarder with 20 years' worth of shit.
